The Photochemistry & Spectroscopy group is led by Dr. Javier Segarra-Martí at the Instituto de Ciencia Molecular (ICMol), University of Valencia (Spain).
Javier obtained his PhD in theoretical chemistry and computational modelling at ICMol under the supervision of Prof. Manuela Merchán and co-supervision of Dr. Daniel Roca-Sanjuán.
After his PhD he joined the group of Prof. Marco Garavelli, first at the Università di Bologna (Italy, 2014–2016) and later on at the École Normale Supèrieure (ENS) de Lyon (France, 2016–2018).
In 2018 he joined the department of chemistry at Imperial College London (UK, 2018–2020) as a Marie Curie Fellow, where he worked with Profs. Mike Bearpark and Mike Robb FRS.
As of 2020 he is back at ICMol, Universitat de Valencia (Spain) initially as a Generació de Talent (GenT) Fellow, then as a La Caixa MSCA Postdoctoral Junior Leader Fellow (2020–2022) and as of 1st Jan 2023 as a Ramón y Cajal Fellow.
